Caesars Adds Sportsbook App Feature Just in Time for Football

Caesars Entertainment partnered with Scientific Games to launch a sportsbook as an expanded feature to their existing offers in NJ.

On September 6th, Caesars became the 6th company to launch an online sportsbook in New Jersey. The live launch of Caesars sportsbook app occurred just hours before the NFL season’s first kickoff and generated buzz. Both mobile and online portals have allowed Caesars to round out their sports betting offers through different gaming formats.

Caesars partnership with the experienced iGaming company Scientific Games has allowed for New Jersian’s to enjoy seamless sports betting. Caesars Casino and Sports app as titled by the company is powered using Scientific Games’ OpenBet technology. The online sports portal can be played using any PC or Mac and Caesar’s app can be played on an Android device or iOS, whether an iPhone or iPad.

New Jersey has both retail locations and mobile sports betting capabilities giving bettors the option to stay home and bet or travel to physical venues and sportsbooks. Caesars plans to grab market share from the other 5 online sportsbooks is to utilize its established mobile casino platform and drive its robust user base to use the sportsbooks within the Caesars Casino & Sports app. The app also offers a Total Rewards loyalty program to incentive bettors to continue using their platform.

Caesars has announced its plans to introduce more retail location sportsbooks and expand mobile sports offerings in additional states starting with Nevada. While Caesars partners with Scientific Games in New Jersey, Miomi is Caesars Nevada state sportsbook partner. As more states legalize sports betting, those with established Caesars enterprises may also see the company introduce online sportsbooks portals, physical sportsbook venues, and mobile sportsbook apps.

Caesars Casino and Sports app and online platform operate in New Jersey with clear restrictions only to permit bettors to wager on their platform if they are located within the state. To ensure this, online sportsbooks have employed geotargeting technology which locates individuals accessing the portal to verify they are within NJ’s sports gambling jurisdiction. Sportsbooks must also account for the law in New Jersey which only allows those who are 21 and older to bet on sports by instilling age verification technology as well.

The company’s sportsbook accepts Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, NeTeller, e-Check, Online Bank Transfers, Pay with Cash systems found at 7-11s, and Prepaid Cards. The app is free to download from the Apple Store app or if using an Android, directly from the Caesars website as the app is not available to download through the Play Store. Registration for an account is required for the online portal or app before proceeding to wager.

While many bettors have made remarks about the seamless quality and user-friendliness of Caesars sportsbook, others have criticized the casino company for providing a limited sports wagering menu. Do not be confused, Caesars offers a variety of sports and niche events but does not offer a wide range of available bets to make. The most critiqued missed opportunity for Caesars was the lack of in-play betting which allows users to bet during a live game – other sportsbooks offered in NJ provide this feature.

Caesars may still be able to correct and expand their sports wagering menu before other sportsbooks with robust wagering options push them out of the market. The turnover time on these features is unknown, however, we are certain developers from Scientific Games are tweaking and testing the offered menu.
